Emergency room nurses and doctors are calling this Missouri man’s injury the “worst they’ve ever seen,” after he was rushed to a local hospital with an erection that reportedly lasted 8 hours before his penis ruptured. Jason O’Malley, 31, made the 911 call in excruciating pain; operator said at first he thought it was the voice of a female.
“When I received a 911 call early Wednesday morning, all I could hear with high-pitched squealing,” said Randall Miller, 911 dispatcher. “I kept saying, ‘ma’am are you okay,’ but I soon realized it was a man crying on the phone. He told me his penis split straight down the middle from top to bottom. I almost passed out just from the thought of it.”
O’Malley was taken to the hospital where he informed doctors he had taken three Viagra pills the evening before. He said he was spending the evening with three young ladies, so he figured he’d take one pill for each of them. However, exceeding the recommended dosage caused him to have a “harder than normal” erection that cause the swelling in his penis to be more than the organ could handle. After 8 hours of pressure, the skin split causing excessive bleeding and extreme pain.
Luckily for O’Malley, the emergency room doctors were able to repair the 7 inch gash with 28 stitches and morphine to calm the patient and relieve the pain. “Viagra is not candy, you can’t just pop these pills whenever you want to or in excess of the recommended dosage,” said emergency room doctor William Steinberg. “If you do, this is exactly what will happen. And trust me, this type of pain is something you NEVER want to feel!”
O’Malley was treated for his injuries and released one day later. According to the doctor, it will be many months before O’Malley’s penis will be “ready for business again.”
